According to Elder Laine Wilder, the phrase, "holy kiss," was primarily a symbolic expression of the love, forgiveness, and unity which should exist among Christians. It was a mark of the familial bond which united believers. What does that mean for the believer of Jesus Christ? It means that we have a special unity, harmony, and oneness between those of us of "like faith." It is called the family of God, and if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then that makes us family: brothers, and sisters in Christ.
